Yep, that is my little housemate Ayla showing off her diapers and excellent rain boots! Beer brewing at my house is now more of a party with beer being brewed as one of the many activities one could participate in. We also have: fort building and birthday parties with Micah (shown below), drinking German chocolate cake shots with Naomi (not shown, but delicious, and very good for making you forget certain steps in the brewing process), watching inappropriate Smurf related videos courtesy of Rigel (thanks for that! Leah and I loved it!), and Idle Hands Ladies Auxiliary designing of the homebrew labels. I love it. It seems I thrive on the chaos of having a house full of people, all doing whatever they feel like doing!
Above is Micah's back, and the farm he built, Tim, Ayla, and Ann. Behind them are two of the carboys of IPA we brewed that evening. One is a straight IPA, one has a twist. We wanted to compare how they turned out.
And here is the other half of the group: Jonah at the computer, Rigel, and then Tim again. And below is all three beers bubbling away!
The beer on the right was brewed a week later, and is a dark brown ale. Look how happy it is bubbling away, it filled that pitcher with foam about once an hour for a day, it was crazy!
We bottled the beer last Wednesday, and there are pictures of that somewhere, but I'm not sure where! It was a fun night with three IHLA girls getting crafty making labels in the kitchen, kiddos playing in the living room (they literally pulled every toy Ayla owned and put it on the floor somewhere), and Tim and Yeder bottling beer in the backyard. I was hopping between each group making sure things were running smoothly! Fun times, I tell you!
I can't wait to try the beer, but its gonna be a few weeks for them to get all properly carbonated. Sigh, the waiting is the hardest part!

Look at all of those beautiful carboys! I really want to see one of your labels. We also homebrew, but have yet to design any pretty labels. Unrelated, I finally finished the seven-day forecast series on Sunday! I'll be posting pictures of the last ones (Thursday and Friday) in a week or so and will also post them to your Flickr group. I already want to embroider the set again.
